Ebury’s mission is to make international trade more accessible by using its in-house platform to help businesses of all sizes go borderless with global transactions and payments.
Delivering annual transactions of over £27 billion, Ebury provides international payments and collections, FX in more than 130 currencies, FX risk management and business lending.
Ebury already had an effective existing website and API, but wanted to remain relevant in an increasingly competitive marketplace, which meant making its unique offering mobile.
Apadmi’s mobile expertise and experience in financial services meant we were perfectly placed to create an app which could bring Ebury’s offer to life while also taking advantage of mobile as a key channel for customer engagement and retention.
How we moved the market
The Ebury app has transformed the customer mobile experience. Partnering with Ebury’s in-house team, and working within agile methodology SCRUM, Apadmi developed and delivered a native iOS solution which allows users to pay suppliers, employees and partners and receive funds in multiple currencies worldwide. It also converts balances from one currency to another and checks live rates.
The project called on Apadmi’s financial services experience to create a robust security framework capable of securely transacting hundreds of thousands of pounds at any one time, while also meeting all regulatory requirements. Apadmi successfully developed a secure framework in line with OWASP.
The app also needed to provide new functionality to encourage customers to move from web to app. Replacing the previous journey which required users to go into the web portal for an estimated rate, the new live currency checker in the app reduces the number of required steps and enables customers to check rates in real time as part of the transactional journey.
The collaboration between both the Apadmi and Ebury teams has been strong throughout, exceeding sprint goals regularly and a real focus on flexibility and open communication.
