Apadmi partners on new chart-topping loyalty currency app Spenn

All-new loyalty currency app Spenn, from Norwegian Airlines and Strawberry Hotels, launched in the Nordics earlier this month and has hit the number one spot in the App Store in its first week.

Apadmi collaborated with Norwegian and Strawberry to create an entirely new app which supports the collection, management and spend of Spenn, a loyalty currency which customers will be able to use across a wide range of well-known brands and partners in the Nordics. 

The app, available now on IOS and Android, consolidates multiple loyalty propositions into one seamless, user-friendly mobile experience. Spenn is available in five languages including Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Danish and English, ensuring it serves a wide range of customers across the Nordic region.

The app is poised to transform the loyalty landscape, allowing customers to keep track of their Spenn, access personalised offers, and even manage family accounts in one convenient place.

Apadmi's involvement spanned the design and development, testing and delivery of the mobile app, working to ensure a seamless, accessible UX. The platform, powered by Flutter, Braze, and Contentful, enables users to accumulate points through purchases or bookings with Spenn’s partners. Customers can save and use Spenn on future flights or hotels with Norwegian Airlines and Strawberry Hotels, or select alternative experiences with their merchant partners.

Apadmi elevated the mobile offering with a dynamic home screen that customises offers based on preferences and  purchase history. Family accounts let groups pool points towards shared experiences like vacations, while future features will aim to include younger earners in the ecosystem.

Apadmi ensured the app’s architecture could handle the complexities of integrating multiple loyalty programs, offering real-time balance updates and supporting the migration of more than 7 million users. With a few simple steps, existing members can connect their Norwegian and Strawberry accounts and start earning and spending Spenn immediately.

Having launched to market on the 19th November, Spenn has already shot to the top of the regional charts in Apple’s App Store, quickly becoming the most popular app in the Nordics. As new partners join the platform, Spenn will continue to grow its ecosystem, with the aim of becoming the leading loyalty currency for the Nordics and beyond.
